germany…what a beautiful country it is! the flights were not as long as i thought they would be..namely, because the Lord blessed me with being able to sit next to two young boys from tennessee on the way here…they kept me company on the long flight and gave me some good laughs…when we landed in paris one of the little boys gave me his ‘business card’ so that i could keep in contact with him
my flight was cancelled in paris, however i met some people from germany who spoke english (which was very nice) and spent the day with them. i am staying in a home with a very loving family…oh, where the grandmother loves to come to my room and bring fresh flowers….ah, it is such a blessing. i am finding that europe is much different than the u.s. …much different…america seems to be in this fast frame of mind, they want things here and now…europe seems much more simplistic, which i love…to be honest, i think i will stay
oh, that i may love Thee as Thou lovest me,
that i may walk worthy of Thee, my Lord,
that i may reflect the image of heaven“s first-born
may i always see Thy beauty with the clear eye of faith
and feel the power of Thy Spirit in my heart,
for unless He might move mightily in me
no inward fire will be kindled…
~puritan prayer
oh dear Jesus, may i be a light wherever i may be…may i be
humbled in light of Your grace…(and may i be humbled
with the realization that i am not very good at german)
have Your way in me, oh that my own wants and dreams
will not get in the way of what You have for me. i pray
that my thoughts, my life, and my future will bring glory to my precious King…

Thanks for updating and for the pics! A little culture shocked? We all miss you here! Grandma’s wasn’t the same without you- and you missed the cornhole family tournaments
(The Roszkowskis vs. the Townsends- we had grandma and they had grandpa- and we won!) May the Lord bless your time there. Love you, M.
Hi,
Indeed Europe is a wonderful place to be. Enjoy your stay. You will discover that most of the stereotypes about Germans are just that: stereotypes. So are you learning German? Whereabout in Germany are you? I am just asking because I am studying languages and German is one of them. My stepdad is Austrian… I’m Kenyan living in Paris…. And at the moment holidaying in Preston, England…. But above all, I love JESUS and seek to draw nearer to Him.
Gott segne dich!
Sof
What an experience God is giving you! Man, enjoy every minute of it and may you see fresh new things from God on a daily basis. Peace to you.
I’m so excited for you! I one friend that is in the China area (He can’t tell me the exact place) and another friend going to China soon. It gets me excited when I read about what they are doing. I personally don’t feel a call to do that but I love it! Maybe someday I will get to go and do something like that, even if its short term. AHH but America needs truth, so I may not go anywhere!
Hi Arielle! Sounds like you are enjoying Germany! I’ve heard from others that we (N. America) are the only “hyper-driven, fast-food” types in the world. In the rest of the world it is a much slower pace, especially if you go into countries with much warmer climates. ie: siestas, and businesses that close in the afternoon for several hours:)
I know you are enjoying Him the most, though, and that He will use you there in many ways that you cannot begin to ask or imagine, all it takes is that surrendered heart that you have, your desire to serve and your continued obedience to Him. You are in love with the King of Kings and He is soooo wonderful. He delights Himself in your worshipful heart for Him. Ok, this is too long, I’ll quit!
Hope to hear from you! (are you ever on MSN??) Blessings to you!! Love in Him, Lois
Hey neighbour! Wie geht es? Just noticed that you updated…wow…that last picture is really beautiful. Where did you take that one? How’s the lake called?
europe seems much more simplistic
Really? Hmmm…maybe there’s a vast difference between Germany and Holland still, but I would like to see more simplicity here in my country and in my own life as well.
I hope and pray you’ll have a blessed time. That your heart will be drawn to the Lord more. That you may “enter into His rest” and that you’ll have much fun.
Blessings, Paul
I am very happy to see that you are in germany and the Lord is blessing your time. I look forward to hearing more of what you were shown and how you were blessed. the pictures are fantastic.
How is germany?
That’s great to read that you’re having a good time in Germany. [laughs] Nice that you get to experience the “slow” side of Europe. Getting around Kyiv, Ukraine was not slow at all! It was so rushed and I didn’t like it. Honestly, after going back to Ukraine this summer, I was ever more thankful that I live in America. At the same time, I don’t like comparing cultures to each other much because really, one culture isn’t better than another. We’re just different. We do things differently, and that’s okay. We all have a system of order that works best for our lives and our society. Of course, everywhere around the world there’s something to complain about, but thanks to God, there’s much more to be thankful for. Just this morning I was reminded that God’s faithfulness spreads across the whole world! That’s very comforting and encouraging.
Enjoy the rest of your trip. I will be posting more about mine later. Take care.
