  • … so i have just come back from a day long trip to the large city of chicago, accompanied by my dad. i am not sure how many people travel from cincinnati to chicago (and back) in one day…but we managed to do it, and succeeded quite well! we visited the sears tower, moody bible institute, and all of that good stuff…not to mention, it was a blessing to finally spend some time with him.

lately, the Lord has been teaching me so much about unconditional love. while driving home tonight, these verses were brought to mind:

“and why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? or how can you say to your brother, ‘let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? hyprocrite! first remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” matthew 7:3-5

how convicting these few verses are! oh Lord, why am i so quick to judge others? why am i continually distracted by things instead of keeping my eyes fixed on You? help me to have unconditional love and a humble heart…

“the home of our soul is to be the love of Christ. we are to live our life there. this is what Christ means for our life to be and what He really can make it. our continuous living in the vine is to be living in His love.

turn away from the visible if you would see and possess the invisible. turn away from yourself and your efforts if you would have your heart filled with Him and the certainty of His love. come away from all else, and set your heart on Jesus and His love. occupy yourself with that love, worship it, and wait for it. you may be sure it will reach out to you and by its power take you up into itself as your home. our life must have its breath and being in a heavenly love as much as His.~ andrew murray

“…and above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins’ “ 1 peter 4:8

…i pray that i will exhort the love of Christ in my life so that You may be glorified.
my eyes fixed soley on Jesus.. may this life show the love of You.

  • That’s good. I did a post today on love.

  • Hi Arielle! So true. I have been thinking a lot about the same verses in Matthew 7 lately about judging. I think the saddest thing is that when we judge others we do not realize we are judging the Lord, for they are His creation! :( And many times we are dictating to Him how He should work in their lives and how He should change them so that we like them better. Ugh! I know I must remember not to put the Lord in a box and tell Him how and what He should be doing in others lives, or in my own. And yes, love covers. Accepting others and treasuring the gift they are to us from Him and loving them with His love, for our own is not good, way too self-oriented. The natural love must first die before His Love can flow in and through us. Funny, these are the things I’ve been pondering off and on lately. Blessings to you!! In His love, Lois :)

  • Amen! This is a wonderful reminder! Humility is what is needed. Always regarding the other as better than ourself. Not envying but just loving them.

    God bless, Sof

  • arielle … firstly … the previous song on your site … it’s been on my heart ever since you’ve come to my site … i’m sorry that i took the code without asking first … i’ll take if off if you perfer …  and about everything else … just reading the comments i’ve gotten. .. it just breaks my heart to see such encouragement and love for me from “brothers and sisters” … i’ve always felt that that was such a cliche phrase and that nowadays no one really means, or knows what they mean when they use it anymore … as i was reading, i started to cry and as my heart was breaking and aching, the sun shone through the window … it’s as if God said, “it’s okay, i have always loved you … come back into the light ..” but it’s so hard for me to embrace because i’ve ignored Him for quite a while now … i’ve neglected His love … neglected Him … but yet, He still works through people to let me know that He has never leave and yet i still do not believe that He never really took a break from me … because even i need a break from me! i write to you … with tear stains down my cheek, but some burdens cried out and continually laid down … whenever He deems the time is right … thank you for spurring me on … it means more than you know …

  • …our God is so tender and loving…it’s amazing to see what He’s doing in the lives of people. What a wonderful comment by “tarnishedreality”…

I almost feel out of place to make this comment..but well…you know my heart:

Did YOU visit MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE?????!!!! WOWOWWOWOWW! That’s just not fair

  • Wow… in one day!  I went last summer.  It was a lot of fun. We went to the Sears Tower and by Moody. lol, didn’t go too close.. just drove by.   But those are good thoughts.  God’s working in a lot of lives lately, it seems.  Loving each other is something He’s been working on me with, too.  Still working on it, but I’m sure He’ll bring me to the place He wants me.

  • Yes, I’ve heard her new CD… I really love “Airplane,” “I Believe in You,” and “Be Near Me.”  We start school up again tomorrow, actually. >-<
