  • how i need Jesus.

i do not want to breath one more breath without Him. i do not want to take one more step without Him guiding my every way. i do not want another word to come from my lips without His guidance. i desire nothing more than to be with Him in His sweet presence as He speaks so gently.

i cannot go on without Him continually changing me and growing me in my faith. He has said:
“be holy as I am holy.” (1 peter 1:16)

yet, i see how infinately far i am from such a place. i am far from not caring what the world thinks about me. i am far beyond measure of what He, the Sovereign King, really deserves from me!

    however, in Him:

    there is hope.

it is the hope that is in Christ that keeps me moving. moving towards all that He has for me and all that is in this journey He has written for my life. it is this beautiful Hope that can free me from my sins and pride. it is this Hope whom all can come to and lay down their desires, burdens, and their old ways. and and it is this Hope…it is Jesus, who can satisfy my every need.

    there is joy.

“You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and wine abound.” psalm 4:7

there is His joy that allows His children to be a bright light in a dark world. it is His joy that fills me with a sense of being and knowing my Savior personally. as a Child of Him, i am called to be a “city on a hill” and He has given His joy that i might do such a thing.

    there is love.

“give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.” psalm 106:1

what greater love do we have than Christ Himself? when all of the world fails, i know that the love of Christ will never leave me. has He ever left one of His children on His own? think of the shepard who had a flock of 100 sheep. one had gone astray and yet, the shepard left the 99 sheep to go and save the one that was missing. it is this kind of precious love that the Lord gives to His children.

    there is peace.

“and the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” philippians 4:7

the peace of Jesus is more favorable than all wordly pleasures. even in the worst of times, His peace comforts like no other. when the world around us seems to be a complete mess, sitting at His feet brings me to the place where i know i am supposed to be. the place where i know that He will still and quiet my soul.

Lord, change me and allow me to die to my old ways. satisfy me and be Lord of all in my life.
i put away my hypocritical ways and press on to find a true and simple faith in You.

“as the deer panteth for the water, so my south longeth after Thee.” psalm 42:1

… so    my    soul    longeth    after    Thee.

  • Hey! how are ya?  I haven’t commented in awhile so I thought I would.

  • hey well I want to let you know that I think it is awsome that you are for god and that you show it… I understand how you feel he is my number one and he is the onyone that has helped me through all that I have had to deal with. A really rocky road. you know what I mean! well yeah by the way Im rachel!

  • Yes, those are some beautiful thoughts.  God’s been granting me a lot of peace lately.  [laughs] Hope is probably what I need to work on.  Great pictures of you.  Do you take pictures of yourself or have someone else do it?  What else have you been taking pictures of?  I need to go on another “photo project”.  Hmmm… well, Thanksgiving might be a good one.  The joy of taking pictures is sharing them with others.  [smile]

  • Well you know, Johnny Cash actually didn’t write “Ring of Fire”.  I found out from the movie that June Carter Cash did.  Well, you should check out Johnny Cash’s “My Mother’s Hymn Book” album sometime.  I think he did that album right before he died.  Your younger brother took the pictures of you?!  Wow!  I will have a nice Thanksgiving.  I get to have 2.  Actually 3 [laughs].  Tomorrow I’m going to a friend’s house where I’ll get to visit with my 2 Russian friends.  I’m going to try to make cabbage rolls.  I’m prayin’ that they turn out!  And then I’m going to try to hang out a bit at my brother’s girlfriend’s house after that.  I think my family is going to go see “Yours, Mine and Ours” too.  And then Saturday is our official family Thanksgiving with my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.  I was hoping my brother was going to make that one, that’s why I made plans with friends.  But it looks like he’ll be reporting back to his base on Saturday.  It’s nice having him home again.  [smile]  Well, you guys have a nice Thanksgiving as well.  Maybe share some pictures afterwards.  I think I’m going to bring my camera [smile].  Take care Arielle.

  • Happy Thanksgiving to you, dear Arielle! I pray that the Lord fills your heart with His Presence as He reveals more and more of Himself to you. He strongly supports all those whose hearts are completely His. Many blessings and much love to you! ysi-Grace

  • Happy thanksgiving! I hope you are having a wonderful day :D What is the song playing? It’s stunning! It’s actually brought a tear to my eyes :)

  • happy thanksgiving, arielle!  i love your picture.  it’s really cute.  makes me wanna do a photoshoot.   i love reading your blog… really… I feel closer to Jesus just reading what you write.  beautiful thoughts, i think i’m in the same place.  longing after God. i want more of Him.

this song is awesome; is it Joy Williams?  it kinda sounds like her.

ooh!  in February (on the 4th), Calvary’s doing a concert thing to raise money for jr./sr; a local christian singer is gonna play, shawn tyler gray (http://shawntylergray.com), and it’ll only be $5 to get in.  you should come!  it’d be great to see you.

  • I think I need to have just a little, tiny, ini-mini bit of cultural education here

I will google on this (thanksgiving)…but, happy belated thanksgiving anyway (I know you told me something about it )

Ah, well…let’s just make it thanksgiving everyday, like it is written: “Giving thanks always for all things” (Eph 5:20). What amazes me is that it doesn’t say “giving thanks always in all things”, but “for” all things. That is A LOT.

I’m giving Him thanks…hope I’m able to add “always” to this at one certain point in life.

Have a nice day over there (and you’ll never guess what has happened over here!! It is snowing!!! Really, it is…wow…amazing )

    In Him,

    Paul
