“Who is this man named Jesus?”
Jesus was a man of compassion. He was a man of humility, of love, of glory, and of all good things.
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
{ Matthew 9:35-36 }
His heart went out to the people who were in need, who were hurting. Notice that He did not stay in the synagogues where the Pharisees were. He, instead, was out on the streets making friends with the beggars, healing the blind, and comforting the needing. Can you even imagine such a man? How beauitful it must have been to see such a man move among people…in such meekness.
In such love.
Yes, Jesus is the perfect example of how I want to live my life. Though I may fail time and time again, I want my heart to be softened by the tenderness of this beautiful soul. The compassion of Jesus. I want my heart to reflect that of His, in some way…

“Oh I want all I am to die
So all He is can come alive
Until everyone I talk to hears His voice
And everything I touch feels the warmth of His hand
Until everyone I meet
Sees Jesus in me
This is all I wanna be
I wanna be mistaken
For Jesus
Oh I wanna be mistaken”

O, I will miss you! But I know you will be Jesus to others there in Florida. Wherever you go- He goes
Have a lovely time! Love you tons, M
Have fun on Spring Break… cool thoughts here in your post… not only was he in the streets but he was in the synagogues… it’s hard to find folks that can accomplish the balance that we see in Christ… challenging the religious and comforting the sinner… calling to both… the kingdom of God is at hand, repent…
thanks for your ministry here on xanga,
JC
Hi Arielle! I love this post! So true the part about Jesus NOT being in church or hanging out with the religious types, He was out walking the streets with the common people and they saw His Love for them and heard the truth that would set them free and give them hope. And He was criticized for doing all of this. So very sad, to have had the opportunity to know Him and see Him and hang out with Him and instead they chose to crucify Him! Yes, it fulfilled God’s plan but woe to them through which it came….sigh….may we keep our hearts humble before Him, surrendering all that He asks, that we may abide in Him and He in us, that others may be attracted to Jesus! May His glory surround you as you go to Florida, I will be praying for you! (Have fun and take lots of pics!
Thank you for your prayers and love! Lois

ryc: Yes! HIS Word is amazing… and so is HE!
and your post… “I want my heart to reflect that of His, in some way…” We reflect HIM more as we give HIM more, without our being consciously aware of it… the old falls away and the new comes… ALL Praise to HIM who creates and recreates us!

hey i just saw your xanga and thought i’d check it out. Your thoughts about Christ are so amazing. its so simple to say that we want that heart of Christ, that compassionate and sincere heart but our world seems to tear away our simple ambition.
Your words are incredible… thanks
kels
Amen. A heart of compassion will help many. You become selfless and want His will to work through your life, helping others. Let our hearts be as HIS.
Have a blessed Easter, Monique
