Jesus, I want to love like You love.Let my faith be simple…not filled with mere religion…but of knowing You and pleasing You.
Let me love…with a love that is not superficial…but with a love that sacrifices, is unconditional, and perseveres.

The scriptures are so clear and true, thank you for sharing your heart.
Often though, we find ourselves struggling trying to love God more. Paul talks about this in Romans as we find ourselves also loving the world and our old man. Life is a battle.
I have found that if I submit, crying out in utter dependence to the Lord, he gives me the love. I tell him that I can’t love him or others perfectly. He does not care though, because I feel his peace that passes understanding and that still small voice that says trust me for you have a high priest who is able to sympathize with your weakness.
The key is not to ask God to help you have the will power. Where is the joy in that? The key is surrender. To tell God that we can’t love him. To ask him to give us a heart of love. God delights when we tell him the reality that we can do nothing right on our own or even with his help, it is all God.
We love God because he first loved us.
