i have been thinking…why do we so often go to the Lord with our requests and wants?

at times, why can’t our prayer simply be giving. giving Him our love.

it confuses me how people go to Him at specific times wanting this or that, yet He is worthy of so much more!

(He is worthy of our praise, our love, our everything! this is why we were created, is it not?)

oh may my life be a never-ending prayer that, at times, is more than requests…but giving my love to Him.

“Prayer is not so much what we ask as what we are. God responds to our prayers based on our lives. In John 15:7, Jesus says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” Prayer is a lifestyle. It is spending time with God and spending time in the Word of God. Redemption has two sides… the legal side and the reality side. You can be legally saved but still never have a single prayer answered.”

  • Thanks for coming by to say Hi! I love your post! It is too true :( So many just expect the Lord to be like a magic genie & grant them their wishes, they never take the time to just worship Him and adore Him and meet His need. I think if asked, they would look like a deer caught in the headlights, you know? The Lord’s need?? Blank look. May the Lord draw more hearts that He’s created to believe, close to Himself and put a hunger and thirst for Himself within them! Blessings to you and your hungering and seeking heart, Arielle, I KNOW He is so pleased!!

  • Hey wow…you’re reading Hudson Taylor ! In that book you shall find a man who simply believed God. A man who’s life was Christ and nothing else (and no one else).

Thanks for posting this about prayer…this is a great truth! It touched me and I’ll keep it in mind (better said: I’ll try to put it into practice, by the grace of God!). Thanks sister!

May the prayer of my heart always be,
    Make me a servant
    Make me a servant
    Make me a servant…today
