  • “there are many Christians who discover that the best time of the day is when they can read and explore their bibles, and they love nothing more than to get a new spiritual insight. as a person who mines diamonds rejoices when he has found a diamond, or someone who digs for gold when he has found a nugget, they delight when they get some new thought from the bible, and they feed upon it. yet, even with all their interest in God’s word, and with all the joy that is stirred within their hearts, when they go to their work or attend to their daily duties, they find that there is still something missing in their lives.

from time to time, we must leave all the many and diverse blessings that Jesus gives us, and come to the one blessing that encompasses them all: the blessing that Jesus makes Himself known, that Jesus is willing to make Himself known to us.

their eyes were opened and they knew Him.” luke 24:31

it is very possible to have Jesus Himself with you and not know it. is is very possible to listen to all the truth about Jesus, and even preach about it, and yet not know Him. many Christians know that Christ has risen from the dead. they believe in Him; they frequently have blessed experiences that come from the risen Christ. very often, at a Bible conference or in a time of silent Bible reading or when God gives His grace in a special way. yet, it can be said of many Christians, whose hearts are burning within them, that they do not know it is Jesus Himself who is with them.” ~andrew murray

(i do not want to just hear about the Lord, to talk about Him,
to read about Him, but to know Him to the fullest.)

    one thing
    this is what i desire

    sweet illumination
that i may gaze upon His face
    oh, to know this man

    sweet illumination
to glory in the presence of the King
behold the sweet essence of this one thing
that i may know the Spring within me
as it rises the Spring, so sweet

  • I sure was blessed today!! :)

  • So true about mining the Bible, and my pastor also reminds me that it is also important to share what we mine, sigh, that is the tough part for me.

  • Wow… you have a lot of people commenting on here, it seems.  That’s awesome!  That means you’re blessing a lot of people!  Have you had a xanga weblog for awhile?  Thanks for sharing that bit from Andrew Murray.  I’ve heard he’s a good writer.  So many good books to read!  It’s also awesome to see that you’re using your blog for good.  Not typing up a bunch of nonsense… which I guess is what this blog stuff is all about… but it’s good to see that your page is different from probably most blogs out there.  I don’t really know because I’m new to this whole thing.  But from what I’ve seen and read, it’s refreshing to come here and read entries that are God-based, God-focused and God-glorifying.  Keep being a beautiful woman of God!  Even if everyone else around you fails and dissappoints you, keep your eyes on God, keep loving Him, keep trusting Him, keep knowing Him.  I look forward to checking your blog out some more when I have more time.  Right now, I’m supposed to be working!  I prayed that I’d use my work time well… and not like this isn’t a good use of time, but I want to put my prayer into some honest action.  Talk to you later!

  • Ah!  What’s “thoughting”?  [laughs] Where did that come from?!  I meant to type “commenting”.  Sorry… I’m somewhat of a perfectionist and can’t stand not being able to edit mistakes.  Okay… I’m getting back to my work now.  =)

  • Ummm… I think your blog has a mind of it’s own.  “Thoughting” it is!  You win!  =P

  • Hi …any new word on Lois?….

  • Thanks for stopping by. Visit any time. I usually leave replies under the same post where you commented. That keeps the thread together and you know you can always check back the next day for an answer from me to your comment.

I very much appreciated your comment yesterday, btw. I live about 30 miles west of Louisville off I-64. TTFN.

  • Good word…I am finding it is good to know about Him but infinitely better to KNOW HIM……amen!

  • Thank you so much Arielle, for your kindness, your love and your prayers. He has heard and answered. I cannot begin to describe all the little details, but I know Him today better as the God of all details . . . big and small. I could write a long chapter about them (maybe I shall ;) Thank you for posting here as well. I pray many lives are encouraged by the words He gives you to speak, and to write and to sing . . . for He is the author of them all! May the Lord of all that is Holy, Righteous and True keep opening more eyes to see Him, for who He truly is as those who have a holy fear of Him, rightly divide the Word of Truth and point to Jesus as the only hope for all! May He meet every need, dry every eye and draw each heart closer to Himself, all for His glory alone! Many blessings to you today and every day, my dear sister! {{{{{hugs}}}}} Love Lois
